FINALLY! Place items on slabs!
Hang lanterns from slabs! Stack blocks on slabs! Stack blocks on those blocks on slabs!
Your slabs finally get the love they deserve 💖
Slabbed makes the tops of slabs act like solid ground, without breaking vanilla behavior. Everything still behaves like Minecraft expects — it just works the way you always wished slabs did.
As of 0.2.0-beta, you can now hang most items underneath top slabs too!
Chain your chains! Hang lanterns! End-rod chaos! Hanging roots! Dripstone! Bells!
✅ Supported Slabbables (just a few of many)
- Lanterns (standing & hanging)
- Torches
- Chains (including stacked chains + lantern connections)
- Hanging signs
- Hanging roots
- Spore blossoms
- Pointed dripstone
- Bells
- Trapdoors
- Pressure plates, levers, buttons
- Carpet
- Rails (placement + alignment)
- Lots of decorative + utility blocks
- Etc. etc. etc. etc. etc!!
- Partial stairs compatibility
⚠️ Known Issues / Limitations
Functional limitations
- Stairs have limited support (may cause visual ghost artifacts).
- Redstone does not propagate downward through slabs (up only, for now).
- Powered rails require a same-level activator (lever/torch next to the slab).
- Rails are not yet visually aligned on slab tops.
- Cannot place a slab directly over carpet (same as vanilla behavior).
- Bars not compatible yet
Visual / cosmetic limitations
- Reduced hitbox reach may occur on some slabbed blocks (e.g., carpet).
- Mixed multi-stacking (multiple full blocks between two slabs) is not supported yet.
- Currently incompatible with custom slabs (may add in a future update).
🧪 Development status
Slabbed is still being developed!
As always, back up your worlds before installing, and expect polish to keep rolling in!
